About Me

I've lived in the Alexandria area since 1990. I remember daydreaming from as early as age 8 of having raw materials to work with and creating something from those materials. That interest has grown into a passion to create things for people's homes and businesses- sometimes functional things for daily use, and sometimes purely beautiful things for people's hearts.

I began building homes with Roger Rosengren in 1996 doing framing, roofing, foundations, drywall, trim/cabinets and everything in between. Over the years I gravitated toward detail work like drywall taping, painting and trim installation. I began to get requests for custom pieces for people's homes, and also for custom finishing of millwork and other custom pieces. I thrive on a unique request, and enjoy envisioning possibilities with others, as well as the design process. I have been told that I have a unique ability to visualize things that don't yet exist. I have been a licensed and insured contractor in MN since 1998.

I now work (play?) from my 2400 square foot shop in the country near Holmes City. I have been married for 27 years to my wife, Natasha, who often works with me in the shop and on jobsites. We have 4 adult children and 1 grandson, all of whom we enjoy as often as possible. We also enjoy tending our little homestead and being with our community of friends and family in the area. Our love for God and others is our driving vision.

My Shop

I stock thousands of board feet of many different species of lumber- alder, hickory, maple, white & red oak, birch, walnut, poplar, to name a few; and variations of most of these (natural, select, knotty, quartersawn, rift cut, etc.) I also have access to quantities of most species and variations, thicknesses, lengths of all of these.

My shop is set up for all sorts of wood fabrication and finishing. I have planers, shapers, molders, 37” widebelt sander, a twenty one-foot long gluing rack for all shapes and sizes of glue-ups, including curved shapes.

A couple of unique products that we turn out are our custom stained glass pieces and caskets made from Minnesota red pine. Click on “Products” to see what else we do.
